The Untranslatable

This is a series of poems of words that do not directly translate into English. I have tried to capture the essence of the word in a poem.

A frieze trapping motion of a moment of unrest

Which will shape the lives of those who were blessed to be there;

A moment painted with rememberwhens and youhadtobetheres

By those hoping to recreate it with their tongue and teeth;

Making declarations that it was the “is” that made everything was because all pales in its light

Challenging the sun itself;

Sits on the mantle place by a roaring fire

Furious as the memories.
