By Mike Turner
Though time has slowly brushed awayThe sharpness of my mind And where my vision once was clear Now mostly I am blind I do remember that sweet day We saw what we could be And started down our lifetime’s path Together, you and me We looked ahead, out toward our lives But now, I look behind And dwell upon your warm embrace Two hearts, two lives entwined These are the things which I still know The visions that I see Our dreams have turned to memories Of I, and you, and we Now as I wait to go beyond Not knowing what I’ll find I have the sweetness of our life With which my heart to bind So as I pass through that great door Your hand gives me the key I’ll look into your eyes once more And be forever free
