Missing

Used to see pictures of the missing,
everyday, everywhere.
The persons were either gone for days
or for yeas on end.
Makes a person think how or why
they went missing.

For some, when it came time,
did the person become lost,
disoriented due to a condition?
Not knowing where they were
over a period of time
until discovered by strangers or friends.
Thankful to be home.

Often think about the missing
that are out there never found.
Was the person taken away
against their will
to live out a nightmare
that may still be lived out
so much time later?
Or if their life was too much
and they wanted to disappear
to start over.

That was why I went missing.
A new life beckoned me
from the one I had established.
To a lot it was a good life.
I found it mentally taxing.

Was not all that hard
to not be found.
I am on my own a lot
but if in a crowd
I blend in, unnoticeable.

Never saw any notices
with my face on them
or know if anyone searched.
All I know is I feel a lot better now
being one of the missing.

Festival Rising

Can hear the celebration
throughout the starry night sky.
Feel the unified voices
coming together loud and proud.
Music to the dull ears.
Feeling the festival rising.

Chorus of people stomping
in the strange time of isolation
glowing into the atmosphere.
Changing the colours
with the cheering sound.
Feeling the festival rising.

Strangers are holding hands from afar,
embracing and dancing
like every person has known
one another forever
in this time of change.
Feeling the festival feeling.

Clear Tears Away

Looking around the world today
would make anyone tear up
with all the emotions in the air.

Hard to believe the spirit
can or would be uplifted
to breathe calmly.

Believe that times are changing.
There is a clearing in the sky.
You can feel it in the wind.

What is important to you
should be held close, tight.
There is something in comfort.

Wipe away the frustrated tears.
The day is good and bright
because you are in it.
Promise.
