A Little Slice of Happiness

i knew i was in love

with her the moment

she left me speechless

 

and with all the secrets

we have shared over

the years

 

you would think i

would get down on

a knee by now

 

but the demons inside

me know she deserves

so much better than me

 

and i truly hope she

finds that one day

 

and one of these days

i’ll get around to hoping

i find a little slice of

happiness one day

as well

 

preferably before that

shotgun in the corner

becomes a tool to

drive home a point
